Other activities
(i) School Screening Programme
The Hospital also organizes school check-up programme. On an
average 5000 to 7000 students are screened every year,
considering 'Prevention is better than Cure'. In
collaboration with District Blindness Control Society, we
intend screening students of various schools every year.
This activity is carried almost free.
(ii) Training of Para Medical Staff
Looking to the deficiency of para medical staff in the area
of ophthalmology, the hospital started a three years diploma
course in 1996. Five batches have passed out. Almost all the
persons who have obtained diploma are gainfully employed. At
present there are 05 students getting full time training,
out of which 02 are female. Admission to diploma course are
made generally in October out of those who have obtained a
minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 exam.
