Free Rural Eye Care
One of the major activity of the hospital is to organize free
eye camps in the rural areas or in the slum areas of the cities
so that ophthalmological services are made available at the door
steps of the poor persons who are ignorant, illiterate and
cannot afford the treatment. We now organize more than 180 such
camps every year. During the last Nine years, camps were
organized as under :-

In these camps, the patients are examined where necessary medicines given and refraction
done. For operable cases the patients are brought to the Hospital, operated,
medicines given, diet made available and are sent back all free of cost.

As an extension of the Community ophthalmology the Hospital intermittently conducts survey
of cataract population in selected areas. Last survey was conducted in Sanganer
Tehsil. This year, we intend to do survey of some panchayats of Amer Tehsil, under
the aegis of D.B.C.S. After the survey, we will hold camps for operations.
The
Hospital has been organizing on fixed dates free eye camps at
certain specific points so that public of that area is regularly
benefitted with ophthalmological services. Such camps at
present are organized at Chomu, Tonga, Bhankrota,
Bhanpurkala, Watika and achrol in Jaipur District.

It would be worthwhile to mention that about 60% of surgery cases are operated free of
charge including bed, medicines and food to provide relief to the poor and needy persons
particularly of villages.
Donations
All kinds of donations are welcome, which is used for serving the poor & needy
persons. Donations are covered under Section 80G of Income Tax Act, vide
comm. I.T. order No. 862 dated 23.7.2003 valid upto 31.3.2005
